As family and friends gather together for another Thanksgiving feast this year, there are countless reasons we should all give thanks:
Pumpkin pie, whipped cream, and a lot more whipped cream, to name a few.
But while we are deeply appreciative of those three extremely important items, they aren’t the only things our family is thankful for this year. In fact, here’s what everybody in our household said when we asked, “What are you thankful for this year?” Continue reading Here’s why we’re having a Happy Thanksgiving→
Last weekend, the Doctor and the Dad packed up the car, buckled up the kids and headed up the coast for our absolute, no-doubt-about-it favorite event of the year: The California Avocado Festival.
For three days, our family consumed as much of the green stuff as possible, including fried avocado wedges, avocado ice cream, avocado whoopie pies, avocado beer (Mom and Dad only, of course), and chips with loads of delicious dip scooped straight out of the World’s Largest Vat of Guacamole.
This article was originally posted more than two years ago, on May 16, 2014 – as our family was just beginning to anticipate Steven Spielberg’s The BFG movie. Now that it’s finally out (and we’ve finally seen it), we’re back to tell you what we thought. Read the whole post below, or skip ahead to our update!
Did you hear the news that Steven Spielberg is slated to make a new movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s children’s book The BFG? We did, and we are super excited about it.
The BFG is a delightfully adventurous story about a Big Friendly Giant with bad grammar and an interesting hobby of collecting dreams who befriends and adopts a little orphan girl. We read the book as a family several months ago, and we all loved it. Then we saw the whacked-out, old-school, basically-unwatchable-after-you’ve-been-spoiled-by-anything-from-Pixar 1989 cartoon version of the movie – and were collectively disappointed.
The New Year is officially upon us! And much like when a small child jumps upon your stomach at 6 am to wake you from what was just moments ago a perfectly delightful slumber, there’s no going back now.
Unless, of course, you’re like us, and you want to take one last look back at all the cute and crazy things your family did in the past year.
Thanksgiving is here again! A time for family members everywhere to gather around the table, share a delicious meal together, and reflect on everything they have to be thankful for.
The Doctor and the Dad’s family decided to start gettin’ our thanks on a couple days early this year – and we jotted down some notes about it, too. So without further ado, here is what our family is thankful for this year!
