In honor of Father’s Day, our five-year-old daughter and two-and-a-half-year-old son have generously volunteered to write this week’s post so Daddy could have some much needed time off.
So take some time off yourself and enjoy the post they typed, the pictures they took, and the wise and wildly entertaining parenting advice they decided to share with everybody!
The title our kids chose for this post
Think About a Baby.
“Not Think LIKE a Baby, Think ABOUT a Baby.”

Parenting advice from our kids – on sleep, nutrition, exercise and allergies
THE DAUGHTER: Make kids sleep and be really quiet in bed.
THE SON: Eat a lot of candy.
THE DAUGHTER: Help them learn.
THE SON: Help them eat a lot of candy.
THE DAUGHTER: Wait. But that’s not what they should do. Help them not eat a lot of candy.
THE SON: Help them eat one candy. Like a lollipop.
THE DAUGHTER: Make them eat no candy.
THE SON: Make them eat lunch.
THE DAUGHTER: Make them eat their lunch until it’s all gone.
THE SON: Make them eat a lot of food for it’s all gone.
THE DAUGHTER: If they’re sick, make them have medicine even if they don’t like it. And make them eat all of it. Because they need it, then they’ll get better faster.
THE SON: I don’t want to do that.
THE SON: Just walk in a circle.
THE DAUGHTER: Make kids do at least one class because they need to learn one thing that’s not school. Like art or ballet or gym class.
THE SON: No. Just walk in a circle again.
THE DAUGHTER: Make them take walks, because that’s exercise.
THE DAUGHTER: If they’re allergic, don’t make them eat the food they’re allergic to.
THE SON: Allergic to food.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads out there!
We hope you get all the sleep, candy and walking in circles you want this weekend!

That’s about the best parenting advice I’ve ever gotten. Where were those two when I was raising my babies??
